EDHE 101 – Freshmen Students

Academic Skills for College: The development of academic skills, including time management, note taking, reading textbooks, preparing for and taking examinations, and orientation to university life. This course is required for new freshmen who fall below a 2.0 GPA at the end of their first semester at the University of Mississippi, and are required to take EDHE 101 the following semester (Fall or Spring).  (3 credit hours)

 

EDHE 202 – Fundamentals of Active Learning – Following Suspension/Dismissal

Fundamentals of Active Learning: Students returning from academic suspension or dismissal are required to enroll in EDHE 202 during their first regular (fall or spring) semester of enrollment. Students must pass the class with a grade of ‘C’ or higher. Students who fail the class are required to repeat it. Those who earn a 2.0 semester GPA or higher are typically allowed to return to the university the following semester; those who get less than a 2.0 semester GPA will likely go on academic dismissal. (2 credit hours)

 

EDHE 203 – Fundamentals of Academic Success

Learning and problem-solving strategies through a College Life Coaching framework designed to enhance student development and success. (1 credit hour)

 

 

 

EDHE 303 – Transfer Students

Academic Skills for Transfer Students: The development of academic skills, including time management, note taking, reading textbooks, preparing for and taking examinations, and orientation to university life. This course is required for new transfer students who fall below a 2.0 GPA at the end of their first semester at the University of Mississippi, and are required to take EDHE 303 the following semester (Fall or Spring).  (3 credit hours)

 

EDHE 505 – Student Coaching and Mentoring in Higher Education

The development of effective student coaching and peer mentoring strategies to promote student development and success. (3 credit hours)
